Rachell Morillo is an arts leader, writer, and photographer.

I use writing, image-making, and cultural strategy to cultivate spaces where connection and creative possibility can thrive.

Work with Me

My Approach is

Relational

Across roles at the Institute of Contemporary Art, MoMA, and the Studio Museum in Harlem, I’ve treated institutions as living ecosystems: places where shared inquiry, care, and accountability can flourish through intentional design.

Generative

My writing is an active, creative process—one that builds context, deepens attention, and opens pathways toward new interpretations and possibilities.

Culturally Rooted

My photography centers intimacy, presence, and the significance of everyday moments. Working primarily with film, I create portraits, document milestones, and make documentary-style images with an attention shaped by Black diasporic memory and an ethic of care.
